Local and Global Environmental Issues in Present Time
Pacific School of Law, Pacific University has organized a Webinar on “Local and Global Environmental Issues in Present Time” on 06 May 2021 from 11:00 a.m. The keynote speaker was Prof. Satish Kumar Aacharya, Associate. Prof., Govt. College, Pratapgarh, who talked about the long-term heating of Earth's climate system observed since the pre-industrial period (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth's atmosphere.
He mentioned Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air pollutants collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth's surface and as today’s temperature is 40°, which has increased enormously due to mishandling of environment. He gave tips about how to power our home with renewable energy. In today’s time, our concern is to reduce water wastage.
He made the students aware of that Girwa is surrounded by hills and we all live in Udaipur which is situated in Girwa. He pointed towards a well-known commonplace of Udaipur ‘Hiran Magri’ ,which was named after ‘Deers’ which were found at that place these animals are almost extinct from the nearby areas. Long ago in Udaipur there were 30 to 40 ponds but due to mishandling of environment they are not functional. He also pointed towards mining activity which is a kind of robbery according to his idea. If further stated that agriculture sector is suffering from a deadly disease which is is created by humans. Its existence is in crisis
Dr. Sourabh Tyagi , Head-Coordinator, - Pacific School of Social Science and Humanities, Pacific University shared his views and mentioned that this positive step will help others in generating awareness towards ‘Global warming’. The participants gave their feedback from their point of view and shared their opinions.
