78th Independence Day Organized in Grand & Glorified Way at Pacific
On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, a grand celebration filled with patriotism was organized at Pacific University in Udaipur. The event began with a dignified parade at the university ground, with Professor B.P. Sharma, Group President of the Pacific Group, taking the salute. He hoisted the national flag and urged all students and faculty members to participate in the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign by hoisting the Tri-Colour at their homes.
In his inspiring speech, Professor Sharma highlighted the glory of a Unified India and its proud history, instilling a sense of pride among all present. He emphasized that India lost its freedom due to lack of unity, but when unity was restored; the country regained its independence. He called for renewed unity and continuous efforts to elevate India to the world's third-largest economy.
Pro-President Professor Hemant Kothari, speaking on the importance of independent and original thinking, stressed that teachers can make significant contributions to the nation through research and innovation. He noted that the country would benefit from socially useful research and its subsequent patents. Such research could be conducted in various fields, including pharmacy, information technology, chemistry, zoology, physics, dental science, management and engineering by constituent colleges.
Additionally, Professor Kothari inspired students to engage in environmental protection and conservation. He encouraged everyone to plant a tree in the name of one’s mother. Trees are similar to mothers, who selflessly provide shade and fruits. He reminded everyone of their responsibility to care for trees to ensure a safe future for the coming generations.
The program also featured several enthusiastic and delightful patriotic dance performances by students. A play was staged, depicting the lives, sacrifices and contributions of freedom fighters.
